We’re working with Starting Out Solo and a few of our favorite locals to host a law practice startup workshop this Friday, September 30th at 1pm.
We’ve been hosting ‘group meetings’ for attorneys considering or just starting their own practices for years. We’ve called them meetings; we’ve called them roundtables. All the while, our law practice startups have represented a stronghold in our client base. So this school-or-fiscal year, we’re dedicating ourselves to getting on your level and stepping up our startup game. Behold: The Law Practice Startup Workshop. (If that’s all you need to hear, sign up right here.)
Now, we’re also keeping it real. We couldn’t launch a brilliant new law practice startup workshop alone. Starting Out Solo is now our official cosponsor of the Law Practice Startup Workshop. Gabriel Cheong, Starting Out Solo’s president, will be representing at the workshop on the realities of starting a law practice.
Before we get that real on Friday, you’ll hear from our very own Heidi Alexander on all the essentials. We’re talking about planning, office tech, client management, ethics, and finances. If you really want to maximize your participation, spend some time perusing our startup kit. It identifies and answers the top 5 FAQ our advisors hear from law practice startups, and breaks down a wealth of information on the topics of Finance, Marketing, Operations, Risk Management, and Technology.
After we cover the essentials, we’ll turn it over to some local bar legends. First, the co-chair of the Boston Bar Association’s Solo + Small Firm Section, Matt Yospin, will overview name selection and trademarks. Then we have the co-chair of the Women’s Bar Association’s Solo + Small Firm Committee, Chiara LaPlume, to help you consider entity selection.
After that we’ll bring it back to in-house talent to highlight a critical element of law practice startup success: Recognizing + Managing Time + Stress, featuring our colleague Shawn Healy, one of LCL‘s clinical psychologists.
And of course we’re giving you time to network with our friends and get your remaining questions answered. This Law Practice Startup Workshop will happen right here at our offices in Suite 810 at 31 Milk Street in downtown Boston. You can also attend online, but please be advised that we won’t be able to share our coffee or snacks with you via the interwebs.
Register to attend Friday’s Law Practice Startup Workshop here; you can also register now for dates throughout the rest of this year and into 2017.
We’ll be livetweeting tips from our law practice startup workshop, so join the conversation on Friday, September 30th at 1pm: #StartupGameStrong.
