THREE Days Left: Early Bird Discount for ABA TECHSHOW Extended

This article is for informational purposes only. It is not intended to be used in place of professional advice, treatment, or care in any way. Lawyers, law students, judges, and other legal professionals in Massachusetts can find more on scheduling a Free & Confidential appointment with a licensed clinician here.

This year’s conference is offering more tools than ever to help you optimize your lawyering.

Every spring, the ABA Law Practice Division brings lawyers and technology together in Chicago, and we pass along an additional discount to our subscribers. Early Bird Rates have been extended to Monday, February 13th. Register here, using code EP1724.

Every lawyer is a human. Every human’s performance depends on tools. Therefore … You’re lawyers, you love Aristotelian logic too, right?

As you might know by now, we here at Mass LOMAP offer services designed to help every type of lawyer manage their practices more effectively. And we offer other in-suite services provided by LCL for lawyers seeking to manage deeper elements of life in law practice more effectively.

Together, we have a lot in common with ABA TECHSHOW: And it’s all about the tools. You can try to build a house with your bare hands. But you can also use a hammer a 3D printer (apparently). We want to make sure you’re using tools that make your job as easy as possible. Because your job is really hard.

But of course, there’s no way to 3D-print the practice of law. I mean, artificial intelligence might eventually handle all legal disputes, but I don’t know how many dimensions that will involve. For now, you guys are humans. And being human means you have a body, which affects your mind.

So first things first. ABA TECHSHOW has activities organized by COLAP and the LP Attorney Well-Being Committee: Thursday morning is Yoga. Friday morning is a 5k and meditation.

Find out more about those and other special activities scheduled here. There’s a free, full-day workshop taught by Google employees, a startup competition, a Tech for Justice+ Veterans hackathon, Taste of ABA TECHSHOW Dinners (Heidi is hosting one!), Cocktails & Comedy, and The Academy – a special program targeting the advancement of tech and LPM in law school curricula.

And there are a couple extra special events we want to highlight. On Thursday, ABA President Linda Klein will announce the TEN women to make this year’s addition to the LTRC’s Women of Legal Tech. Find out more about this vital initiative here. We’re very proud of Heidi’s work here.

And we’re very proud of Susan’s work, which you can experience at Let’s Connect: Women Rainmakers Networking Breakfast on Friday morning. If your 5k time is under 30 minutes, you’ll have a full 45 to clean up before this breakfast.

Back to the show. Offering sessions on the latest core + project, cybersecurity, e-discovery, marketing + media, and other business of law tools, this year’s conference schedule is designed around some seriously brilliant tracks, including the DIY Check Your Tech and Tips Tracks.

I’m particularly fond of The Legal Lifestyle, which focuses on achieving more holistic success in leveraging tech for an efficient law practice. Other tracks for forward-thinking lawyers include Trends in the Profession, Power Users, Innovative Lawyers.

Both Heidi and Susan are presenting sessions at ABA TECHSHOW this year. Susan will present But I’m a Lawyer, Not a Project Manager on Thursday morning.

Heidi will present Evernote as a Law Practice Tool on Thursday, Harness Tech To Be More Efficient and Avoid Distractions on Friday, and Mobile Apps before the conference wraps on Saturday.

And you can always schedule time with Heidi or Susan to discuss your specific practice management concerns, tech-related or not: Start Here. For your wellness-related concerns, schedule a talk with one of our clinicians by calling 617-482-9600.

For more about the conference, stay tuned to the conversation: #ABATECHSHOW

We’ll be active on our social channels during the conference for anyone who can’t make it to Chicago. We’ll live tweet from sessions and go Live on Facebook for the first time EVER. Get ready: Follow us on Twitter and Like us on Facebook.
