Submissions for the 2018 Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Awards are due by 5pm on December 20th.

The ABA Commission on Women in the Profession is seeking nominations for the 28th Annual Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement Awards.

If you know a woman lawyer who has excelled in her field and paved the way to success for other women lawyers, nominate her for this award. You have just over a week left to make your submission. Find the nomination form here.

Criteria are straightforward. Honorees receiving the Margaret Brent Awards have achieved professional excellence in their field AND influenced other woman to pursue legal careers, or opened doors for women lawyers in a variety of job settings that historically were closed to them, or advanced opportunities for women within a practice area or segment of the profession. Nominees may be ABA members or nonmembers, but sitting members of the ABA Commission on Women in the Profession may not be nominated.

If you submitted a nomination packet in 2016 or 2017 and would like to access your previously submitted packet, please contact Bre’Anna Moore-Gordon at BreAnna.MooreGordon@americanbar.org or (312) 988-5715. Note: Re-submission must include (1) a new award criteria narrative and (2) an updated resume.

The Awards will be presented at a luncheon on Sunday, August 5, 2018, during the ABA Annual Meeting in Chicago. The ABA Commission on Women in the Profession established the Margaret Brent Women Lawyers of Achievement in 1991. Find out more about (and from!) previous Honorees here.
