The Massachusetts Governor’s Council is the body charged with confirming judges, clerk-magistrates, and parole board members. The selection and confirmation of those appointments are critical to our profession. Over the past month, we have held meetings about the experience of Black attorneys in the courtroom and written about the importance of the upcoming SJC appointment. This is a rare opportunity to ask questions to potential members of the next council.
On July 28 and July 30, 2020, the MBLA and MAHA are hosting the two candidates for the sixth district seat: Terrence Kennedy (Tuesday) and Helina Fontes (Thursday).
