Backups are essential to prevent disruption to your practice.

You should have redundant backups. First, you should aim to back up your computer regularly – daily and weekly. Second, you should back up to at least one physical external drive and use an online provider as well. If you use multiple physical drives, you should rotate those devices, so that one is always stored in a separate place.
