As is our wont, we have hired someone new in April. (Seriously, we’re like the Easter Bunny of the U.S economy.) As is also our wont, we will be making our official introduction of our new practice advisor through the medium of a blog post. This one, in fact. So, I asked Scott, whom you’ll meet below, to draft up some aspects of his life in a publishable format. (Well, given that we’re posting these here, let’s call it a ‘semi-publishable’ format.) And, my intention has been to introduce Scott; only, Scott, being the conscientious gentleman that he is, wrote both his part and my part. Well, I liked it so much that I just decided to keep what Scott wrote (including the always-required playlists) all together, to create something of a meta-post. Like Aristotle tripping balls, in a legally kind of way, here is more from Scott Malouf, and, um, me.

Achilles did not storm Troy alone. He spearheaded the advance of the Myrmidons — a mythic, martial people. (If your thoughts are now wandering to Brad Pitt playing Achilles then: ‘Take It. It’s Yours.’) Their might, the power of the Greeks and the genius of Odysseus of Ithaca’s fabled Trojan Horse felled mighty Troy.
LOMAP has a new Myrmidon. Scott L. Malouf joined LOMAP in April as a practice management advisor. He will meet with and advise lawyers on all law practice management (LPM) issues, make interesting presentations to groups, and research and promulgate new LPM techniques and technology strategies. He has more than ten years of experience in commercial claims, construction litigation, insurance matters and other business disputes. He also has extensive experience with electronic discovery, especially issues related to small firms and solo practitioners. Scott has practiced in a variety of settings including contract attorney assignments and small and large firms.
Scott received his B.A. from Hamilton College and his law degree from Vanderbilt University. In law school, he was the editor of a moot court problem argued by teams from across the United Sates. Scott is a proud native of Rochester, New York, and loves Wegmans.
After a hard day at LOMAP, Scott may be found watching ‘Mad Men’, ‘Modern Family’, ‘Jeopardy’, or Penn State football. (Go PSU!)
All workplace stress is banished by a few smiles from his daughter and beautiful wife. The former says he smells like “bugs.” His wife agrees.
Given a ‘Get Out of Jail Free Card‘, he would purloin talented author David Mitchell’s laptop to plagiarize his next book. Of course, Scott has not finished Mitchell’s ‘The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet’, but will if I (Jared) (Whoa. Weird. -ed.) ever stop(s) suggesting new projects.
We look forward to Scott girding his loins to . . . hmm, let’s just say he will do a great job, and welcome aboard.
